The University of Minnesota Health Maple Grove Clinics and Maple Grove Hospital is planning for a fun morning devoted to staying safe and healthy while being active. There will be a Child Safety Fair event Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at the University of Minnesota Health Maple Grove Clinics, 14500 99th Ave. N. in Maple Grove. The event will take place rain or shine.
There will be experts from the community joining in to create a fun and informative event for families.
Family-friendly and free activities include: Bike helmet fittings and sales, in partnership with Safe Kids; bike inspections and learn the rules of the road; beginner skateboard lessons; MN Masons Kids ID Child Safety kit; water, fire and ATV safety; as well as Karate demonstrations.
The Teddy Bear Clinic allows kids to bring a favorite teddy or stuffed animal for hands-on care with Maple Grove Hospital.
Food will be available to purchase from The Lookout. There will be opportunities to sample and purchase local foods at the mini-Maple Grove Farmers Market.
CROSS Food Shelf will also be accepting donations.
Parents may bring any expired medication for safe disposal.
