The Knights tennis team won four of five matches in another busy week on the season.

STMA swept Princeton 7-0 to begin the week. Jimmy Li (6-2, 6-1), Owen Lindstrom (6-0, 7-5), Caden Sigerud (6-1, 6-4) and Ezra Dickerson (6-0, 6-0) all won in singles.

Michael House and Garret Johnson (6-0, 6-0), David Watts and Johnny Thunder (6-0, 6-1) and Ethan Cornell and Joey Kragness (6-0, 6-1) won in doubles.

The Knights pulled out a tough 5-2 win against the Wildcats in which five of the seven matches went to three sets.

Owen Lindstrom (4-6, 6-2, 6-2), Caden Sigerud (6-1, 6-1) and Ezra Dickerson (2-6, 6-1, 6-2) came through for STMA in singles.

Kragness/Thunder (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) and Cornell/Moehn (5-7, 7-5, 6-2) won in doubles. It was a rare day on which STMA’s number one singles player and number one doubles team each lost.

STMA took care of the Rogers Royals by a final of 6-1.

Jimmy Li got back on track with a big win (6-2, 6-4). Owen Lindstrom (6-3, 6-7 (7-9), 6-3), Caden Sigerud (6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2) and Ezra Dickerson (6-3, 6-2) swept singles.

Watts/Thunder (6-2, 6-0) and Cornell/Kragness (6-1, 6-2) won in doubles.

The final meet of the week was a tri-meet with Chanhassen and Fairmont.

Fairmont provided a tough challenge, but the Knights met it. Three players sat out the meet including top singles player Jimmy Li. In his absence, Owen Lindstrom got a big win (6-3, 5-7, 11-9).

Ezra Dickerson got the other singles point (6-1, 6-2).

Cornell/Kragness (6-4, 6-1) and a new doubles team of Broderick Moehn and Eli Gieski (7-6, 6-3) got doubles points and Moehn/Gieski got the deciding point.

STMA lost 1-6 to Chanhassen with only one win from Caden Sigerud (3-6, 6-2, 10-3).
