Dayton book drive a huge success

Dayton’s annual city clean-up day was Saturday, May 6. During the event, Dayton residents Gail Berber and Sheree Mickelson also hosted a book drive asking residents to drop off gently used children’s books. Assistant Fire Chief Jeremy Schmitz is planning to build a box to be placed at McNeil Park for children to “Give a Book” and “Get a Book” in hopes of building community, inspiring a love for reading and fostering a neighborhood book exchange similar to the one at Dayton Elementary School.
