Rogers High School art students shine at sections

Rogers High School students recently participated in the Section 4AA/ 5AA Art Competition. Student Gissele Olivares is a top winner for her “Back Seat.”

Rogers High School students recently participated in the Section 4AA/ 5AA Art Competition.

The awards were presented at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley. Their works of art were on display for a week prior the event. The students had the opportunity to attend workshops and confer with the judges on Awards Day.

Judges’ Choice Awards — Each judge was given the opportunity to choose what they thought was the best work of art in the show. This is the highest award. Four Rogers artists brought home this award.

These pieces will join all of the other Judge’s Choice selections from across the state for another art show and award ceremony May 21.

Superior Awards (Gold Medal) — These awards were given to the students that received the highest percentage of points from the group of judges. 12 out of our 17 participants received the highest level of awards.
