Maple Grove police

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the city during the week of March 19, 2017 through March 25, 2017. Refer to the city’s website Crime Mapping Section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.
Sunday, March 19
12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of a suspect concealing several items inside a purse and left business without paying. Officers arrived, party arrested for theft.
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane — There was a report of three parties selecting hot food inside business, walked around, eating the food, then running out of business without paying. Officers unable to locate suspects or vehicle.
12000 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of a locked vehicle stolen from the parking lot of a business. No suspects at this time.
Chue Thao, 26, of Minneapolis was cited for third degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty, third degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, fail to obey traffic control device and careless driving.
Krystal Swan, 26, of Maple Grove was cited for fifth degree assault on the 6200 block of Quinwood Lane N.
Michael Harris, 25, of Brooklyn Park was cited for domestic assault and interferring with a 911 call on the 6200 block of Quinwood Lane N.
Monday, March 20
8800 block of Zachary Lane — There was a report of license plates stolen off a vehicle parked in a business parking lot. Officers following up.
18000 block of 86th Place N. — Suspects arrested in another county were found with several pieces of stolen mail from Maple Grove residents. The suspects are being charged through other county.
12000 block of 74th Ave. — There was a report of a wallet stolen in Blaine and several charges made on credit cards in Maple Grove. Officer following up on case in Maple Grove.
16000 block of County Road 30 — There was a report of 16 counterfeit $20 bills taken at business, follow up being conducted to identify suspect.
Ashley Smith, 24, of Maple Grove was cited for disorderly conduct and domestic assault on the 8900 block of Underwood Lane N.
Paige Kleven, 21, of Maple Grove was cited for domestic assault and disorderly conduct on the 8900 block of Underwood Lane N.
Donald Wiegel, 30, of White Bear Township was cited for first degree selling methamphetamine, fist degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and no proof of insurance at Hwy. 610 and Maple Grove Parkway.
Terry Armstrong, 52, of Minneapolis was cited for giving a peace officer a false name on the 11300 block of Fountains Drive N.
Sylvia Kainulainen, 35, of Minneapolis was cited for shoplifting and possession of shoplifting gear on the 11300 block of Fountains Drive N.
Tuesday, March 21
7700 block of Elm Creek Blvd. — There was a report of a vehicle in a business parking lot running for several hours. Officers made contact with owner who stated remote starter must have been pushed.
8000 block of Jefferson Highway — An employee reported a customer smelling of alcohol, leaving business, driving out of parking lot. Officer on scene already, followed vehicle, made traffic stop for violations and driver arrested for DWI.
13000 block of Grove Drive —There was a report of customers behaving poorly and not wanting to pay bill. Officers made contact, bill was paid and parties were trespassed from business.
11000 block of 88th Place — Homeowners arrived home, opened garage door and found two suspects inside, who then ran. Officers located one suspect in area who was arrested, follow up for other suspects being done. Brock Palme, 35, of Forest Lake was cited for second degree burglary.
Amber Close, 36, of Big Lake was cited for third degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle at Interstate 94 and Weaver Lake Road.
Robert Williams, 43, of St. Paul was cited for third degree DWI driving while impaired.
Wednesday, March 22
6000 block of Fernbrook Lane — A resident came home finding the front door open. Officers cleared residence and observed several electronics stolen from inside.  Case is under investigation.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of a theft in progress inside a business. Officers were in area and made contact with suspect in parking lot. Brandon Johnson, 33, of Minneapolis was cited for shoplifting.
71st & Timber Crest area — There was a report of a person in all black standing in middle of street staring at a house. Officers made contact with party who lived in area and waiting for ride to work.
Lance Wetzel, 41, of Oak Grove was cited for traffic-registration- intent to escape motor vehicle tax at 99th Ave. and Fernbrook Lane N.
Thursday March 23
9700 block of 64th Ave. — There was a report of a neighbor’s garage door open all day. Officers arrived and found interior doors locked and were able to secure garage door shut.
County Road 30 & County Road 81 — There was a report of a person with a tan holster and black gun. Officers made contact with party inside business and learned that it was cowhide holder with a black umbrella. No weapon located.
13000 block of 85th Place — A Life Alert alarm was pressed at a residence. Officers arrived, made entry and found person had fallen. Officers assisted in getting them back in wheel chair. No injuries.
Friday, March 24
13000 block of 90th Place —  A vehicle running in a driveway was stolen. The vehicle was later recovered in different city. Case is being investigated.
8000 block of Kirkwood Lane — There was a report of five delivered boxes stolen off the front steps of a residence. No suspects at this time.
9000 block of Dunkirk Lane — There was a report of a person picking up an item inside a business, going to return counter without a receipt. There was a traffic stop of suspect vehicle. Robert King, 38, of Minneapolis was cited for fraud-theft by swindle and driving after suspension.
Kevin Stanton, 58, of Maple Grove was cited for domestic assault and disorderly conduct on the 12500 block of 85th Place N.
Victor Cruz, 25, of Brooklyn Center was cited for driving after cancellation at Interstate 94 and Maple Grove Parkway N.
Bryan Smith, 30, of Rice was cited for fifth degree possession of methamphetamine, obstructing the legal process, driving after revocation and giving a peace officer a false name on the 13500 block of Grove Drive N.
Saturday, March 25
11000 block of Lakeland Drive — There was a report of a storage garage broken into and several items stolen. No suspects at this time.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane — There was a report of several people inside a business concealing items and running out into a waiting vehicle. Officers located vehicle. Shanay Taylor, 24, of Minneapolis was cited for shoplifting. Da’Lisha Malone, 19, of Minneapolis was cited for shoplifting. Anthony Carrillo, 26, of Fargo, N.D. was cited for shoplifting. Jamesha Campbell, 24, of Plymouth was cited for shoplifting.
13000 block of Grove Drive — There was a report of a juvenile having difficulty breathing inside a business. Officers administered oxygen until paramedics arrived.  Parent transported juvenile to the hospital.
Paige North, 21, of Champlin was cited for fourth degree DWI driving while impaired-criminal penalty and careless driving at Hemlock Lane and Interstate 694.
Suzette Parchment, 37, of Minneapolis was cited for fourth degree DWI driving while impaired, fourth degree DUI alcohol concentration over .08, first degree DUI and careless driving at Hwy. 169 and Interstate 694.
Briana Zyvoloski, 32, of Little Falls was cited for fifth degree possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving after revocation at 94th Ave. and Garland Lane N.
Other
During this time period there were 14 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
