Man arrested in Rogers suspected of multiple trailer thefts

Rogers Police March 7 arrested a suspect that they believe is involved in multiple trailer thefts in the area.

Officer on routine patrol near Cabela’s observed a vehicle matching that of a suspect vehicle involved in multiple trailer thefts in the Rogers and potential surrounding agencies where similar thefts had occurred.

The vehicle was observed from a distance, while it was suspected to be fueling at a gas station in Rogers. It was then seen pulling out onto SE Rogers Drive from the business lot.

Officer tried to pull out to follow/find the vehicle on Rogers Drive, but it was gone by the time the roadway was pulled on to. While checking the area the vehicle was located behind a closed business pulling alongside a lone cargo style trailer (one matching those commonly stolen). It was immediately afterwards seen shutting off its lights, hitting a curb, and tree branches, before backing up a short distance towards the trailer before it was believed that the suspect observed the Officer and stopped.

The squad video was activated and partners were requested advising them of the suspected theft in progress. Scott Hutton, 41, was arrested for PC felony theft and had many matching identifiers on his vehicle to the previous trailer theft incidents.
