4 STMA wrestlers named to All State Tourney Team

The STMA Wrestling team had 4 individuals named to the “All State Tourney Team” at the State Wrestling Tournament, recently held at the X-cel Energy Center in St. Paul. The team selections were based on the wrestlers’ performance in the State Dual Meet Tourney, in which the Knights placed third as a team. Only one individual per weight class was selected by the committee and they were introduced at the conclusion of the State Dual Meet Tourney on Thursday March 2nd.

Brandon Psyk (113 pounds), Patrick McKee (120), Jake Allar (170), and Evan Foster (220) were the award recipients for STMA. Each of the selected Knights had a perfect 3-0 (win-loss) record in the 3 dual meets the Knights competed in, at State.

Apple Valley, the eventual dual meet State champs, had only two individuals make the “All-Tourney” team while Owatonna and Anoka each had 3 individuals selected for the team.

Jake Allar and Evan Foster are seniors while Patrick McKee is a junior and Brandon Psyk is a sophomore.
