The following is a synopsis of incidents that occurred in the city of Maple Grove during the week of Feb. 19 through Feb. 25. Refer to the city’s website crime mapping section for additional details for the crimes of burglary, robbery, arson, theft and vehicle theft.
Sunday, Feb. 19
12000 block of 82nd Avenue – There was a vehicle parked at a business that had a rear window smashed out and several items taken from inside; There are no suspects at this time.
15000 block of Grove Circle – Officers responded to a party inside a business trying to leave without paying for a big screen TV, stopped by loss prevention. Officers arrested 43-year-old Tonisheia Phillips, of Champlin, for theft.
13000 block of Bass Lake Road – There was a report of suspects filling gas tank and driving off without paying; There are no suspect at this time.
12000 block of 82nd Place – There was a report of people knocking on front door and garage; officers located parties who were intoxicated and at the wrong residence. Officers assisted in getting everyone home safely.
Hollie Beckman, 44, of Maple Grove was cited for DWI in the fourth degree, careless driving and exceeding the speed limit.
Leslie Persson, 24, of Plymouth was cited for two counts of third degree DWI, third degree DUI and careless driving on I-494 and Rockford Road in Plymouth.
Salad Siyad, 32, of Minneapolis was cited for disorderly conduct.
Monday, Feb. 20
67th Avenue and Polaris Lane – Officers responded to a report of a person standing in the fair for about an hour; officers made contact with juvenile who was lost and transported them home.
Tuesday, Feb. 21
6200 block of Norwood Lane – There was a report of an unlocked vehicle parked in driveway overnight had been gone through, nothing taken. Later the victim found out a check from checkbook taken and cashed. The case is being investigated.
8500 block of Jefferson Highway – There was a report of a vehicle in a parking lot of business, the party was getting out and taking pictures; officer made contact with party who took a picture of a truck.
13000 block of Grove Drive – Officers responded to a report of a person filling tank with gas and driving off without paying; officer following up on case.
12000 block of 85th Avenue – There was a found backpack in a yard, subsequent investigation revealed property stolen out of unlocked vehicle parked in neighbor’s driveway overnight. No suspects at this time.
16000 block of Bass Lake Road – There was a report of a window broken at an old school house; photos taken of damage, caretaker notified and no suspects at this time.
Wednesday, Feb. 22
11000 block of 97th Place – There was a report of a van parked behind a business in early morning hours; officers made contact with party who fell asleep waiting to make delivery route.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane – Officers responded to a report of two suspects concealing items and leaving a business without paying, officers made contact with both parties and they were then arrested for the theft.
6000 block of Hemlock Lane – There was a report of a window smashed out of vehicle parked in business parking lot and purse stolen from front seat; There are no suspects at this time.
8000 block of Valley Forge Lane – Officers responded to a report of a window smashed out of vehicle parked in a business parking lot and purse stolen from front seat; There are no suspects at this time.
Allen Smith, 37, of Big Lake was cited for toxic substance use on the 9400 Dunkirk Lane North.
Amber Bigelow, 30, of Maple Grove was cited for possessing (two counts) and selling methamphetamine on the 16000 block of County Road 30.
Kiersten Olson, 26, of Elk River was cited for possessing (two counts) and selling methamphetamine on the 16000 block of County Road 30.
Thursday, Feb. 23
9000 block of Rosewood Lane – There was a report of a suspicious vehicle making several stops in neighborhood multiple times during all hours of the day and leaving when residents comes out; officer will be notified when vehicle returns.
6000 block of Weston Lane – Officers responded to a report of two persons ringing residents doorbell, then seen running towards park path; officers searched area and found no suspects.
Donald Wiegel, 30, of White Bear Township was cited for selling methamphetamine on the 9300 block of Inland Lane North.
Jason Troland, 46, of Big Lake was cited for two counts DWI, two counts DUI and careless driving on Highway 610 and Maple Grove Parkway.
Friday, Feb. 24
16000 block of 96th Avenue – There was a report of same suspect, on several occasions, concealing items and leaving business without paying; officers following up on case for identification and charging.
9000 block of Dunkirk Lane – Officers responded to a report of a person getting two new tires installed on vehicle, then left business without paying; officer following up with registered owner.
13000 block of 62nd Avenue – There was a report of cars parked in cul-de-sac in early morning hours. The next day found beer cans and garbage thrown in yards and street; no suspects at this time.
8000 block of Norwood Lane – There was a report of an occupied vehicle parked in front of residence playing loud music; officers made contact with several parties in vehicle and cited all for tobacco violations.
Dijon Roberts, 20, of Minneapolis was cited for driving after suspension and domestic abuse on I-94 and Weaver lake Road.
Phallynn Tidwell, 27, of St. Paul was cited for an outstanding arrest warrant on I-94 and Weaver Lake Road.
Luke Plemel, 31 of St. Joseph was cited for driving after cancellation, possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing a small amount of marijuana on the 6300 block of Vinewood Lane.
Leyna Springwater, 30, of Hopkins was cited for possessing drug paraphernalia in an undisclosed location.
Saturday, Feb. 25
13000 block of Timber Crest Drive – Officers responded to a report of a delivered package taken from front steps; There are no suspects at this time.
12000 block of 73rd Avenue – There was a report of several eggs thrown at residence; There are no suspects at this time.
Highway 610 & I-94 – Officers responded to a single vehicle accident, no injuries; officers arrested Cassandra Schmidt, 37, of Elk River for DWI and careless driving.
Thao Lao, 27, of Brooklyn Park was cited for speeding, careless driving, improper lane use, DUI and two counts of DWI.
Casey Johnson, 26, of Plymouth was cited for two counts DWI, DUI and careless driving on Hemlock Lane and I-694.
Allen Smith, 37, of Big Lake was cited for toxic substance use on 10400 County Road 101.
Arthur Kourdaev, 26, of Maple Grove was cited for careless driving, speeding and DWI.
During this time period there were 18 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
