Maple Grove Lions, First Class Mortgage lead the way high donations

Families and individuals in need are the beneficiaries of record-breaking contributions during November’s Give to the Max day, thanks to matching grants. CROSS Services in Rogers was one of well over 4,000 organizations requesting financial support on the annual Give to the Max Day on Nov. 17.
“Thank you, First Class Mortgage and Maple Grove Lions, for your $1 for $1 match challenges on Give to the Max day,” said Elizabeth Johnson, Executive Director of CROSS Services, located in Rogers. “The $10,000 match from First Class Mortgage (https://www.firstclasscorp.com/) and $25,000 match from the Lions (http://www.maplegrovelions.org) were answered with more than $56,000 from the CROSS community.”
She continued, “The grand total was $91,000. That’s $21,000 more than our goal of $70,000, making it CROSS’ best ever Give to the Max Day.”
Johnson wants the community to know that choosing CROSS makes a difference. “Without food and a safe home, nothing else is possible. Our neighbors cannot survive, even strive for a better life, without these basics of life,” she added.
CROSS serves locally and comprehensively. “Families come to us for food and housing, and leave with job connections, clothing, emotional support, connections to other community resources, support for their children’s schools, birthdays and holiday needs, and many other caring services,” Johnson said.
“Your gifts make a difference,” she explained. “Of every dollar you donate to CROSS, 95 percent goes right into programs, three percent is spent on building awareness in the community and sustainability efforts, and two percent is spent on administration. Thank you so much to everyone who donates.”
CROSS serves Champlin, Corcoran, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo and Rogers. Services include the food shelf, clothing store, Meals on Wheels, school packs for kids, and many more.
