CROSS $1 for $1 match on Give to the Max Day impacts area communities

CROSS Services is asking supporters to share their generosity by donating online for CROSS during the annual Give to the Max Day in Minnesota Thursday, Nov. 13.

Why give to CROSS?

“Money donated to CROSS Services will benefit local individuals and families in their time of need,” CROSS Executive Director Elizabeth Johnson said. “Last year, the community shared its generosity by donating $24,930 during Give to the Max Day. Ninety-five percent of every donation goes directly back to support programs such as the food shelf, Meals on Wheels and housing assistance. CROSS Services hopes to raise even more funds this year to support families in need living in the communities of Maple Grove, Osseo, Rogers, Corcoran, Dayton and west Champlin.”

Annually, CROSS serves over 6,800 of area neighbors. Each year, community donations help provide more than 665,000 pounds of food to individuals and families in need, contribute to providing 8,330 meals to the elderly, disabled, and homebound individuals through the Meals on Wheels program, assist over 200 local families with funding to stabilize their housing crisis, and allow CROSS to be a part of a community team that helps nearly 2,000 children and homeless youth in 11 area schools to receive weekend food supplies each month.

“Your donation makes a great impact,” Johnson said. “Because of the tremendous volunteer support at CROSS…We are fortunate to be one of the few organizations that direct over 90 percent of your contribution right back into programs to help families and individuals.”
