Maple Grove fitness studio to host unique benefit for baby

Area fitness enthusiasts are being encouraged and asked to participate in a benefit with benefits. Orangetheory Fitness of Maple Grove announced a competition set for Saturday, Aug. 30, at its location at 8121 Wedgewood Lane N. in Maple Grove.

People are invited to participate in the Hill Climb for Harper event. Everyone is able to participate in the event.

Those participating will receive the benefits of an increasingly popular workout, all while working out for a great cause. Participants in the Hill Climb for Harper event will do 25-minute running intervals uphill on treadmills.

Harper Talbert is a 9-month old girl battling neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that affects the nervous system. She has had surgery and is undergoing chemotherapy. The “We Love Harper Fund” benefits the Talbert family whose father is in the U.S. Army and is meant to help the family during this time of need.

Orangetheory Fitness Maple Grove does a benefit workout a couple times a year, but this one happens to be near and dear to the franchise owner’s heart. Harper is the franchise owner’s niece.

“Our members are eager to help Harper and we feel this is a great way to capture the energy of our studio,” said franchise owner John Finn. “Orangetheory Fitness is honored to be able to help the family of Harper. Plus, for non-members, it’s a great way to try Orangetheory.”

All proceeds raised from the Hill Climb for Harper event will go to the “We Love Harper Fund.” Those who are interested in donating to the fund can do so also, but stopping by the Maple Grove Orangetheory location and tell staff they want to donate to the “We Love Harper Fund.”

Registration is open for the event, but classes fill up quickly. There will be two sessions to participate Saturday, Aug. 30 — at 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. For more information or to register for this event, contact Orangetheory Fitness at 763-657-1313 or visit the Maple Grove location.
