Cathy Ann Wagner of Otsego, MN, passed away Tuesday, August 19th in the comfort of her own home after a battle with lung cancer. Cathy was with her son, Tim, when she passed.
Cathy was a loving and giving mother, neighbor and friend. She was an accomplished attorney, with a practice in Rogers, MN. She was an accomplished organist and provided services over the years at Word of Peace Church in Rogers, MN. Cathy volunteered with Alexandra House since 2003, providing legal services and consultation for those affected by violence and unable to afford legal services. Cathy will be deeply missed by many.
Cathy was born July 12, 1950 in St. Paul, NE to Helen (Ahlers) and LaVern Wagner. The family moved to Minnesota in 1958. She graduated from Ashby High School in 1968, Metro State University in 1990 and William Mitchell College of Law in 1994. Cathy was admitted to practice law in Minnesota in 1994.
Preceded in death by parents, Helen and LaVern Wagner; brother, Steven Wagner.
Survived by two sons, Tim Johnson (Micheal Bitzan) and Scott (Kirstin) Johnson; one grandchild, Sarah; siblings, Ron (Mary) Wagner of Alexandria, MN, Linda (Frank) Czyz of San Jose, CA, Karen (Keith) Schultz of Garfield, MN, Lori (Rodney) Schultz of Alexandria, MN; numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
Prior to Cathy’s passing, she asked that no memorial services be held as she did not want people gathering in sadness. Cathy’s approach to life was one of meaning.
