Rockford prep sports notes

The fall sports season is fast approaching for Rockford High School.

The football team will conduct a six-team scrimmage starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23. Teams include Dassel-Cokato, Milaca, Patrick Henry, Minnehaha Academy and Minneapolis Patrick Henry.

The first game is 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at home against Watertown-Mayer. Other home games are against Holdingford Sept. 5, Kimball Sept. 19 and Pierz Healy Oct. 10.

First in action is the boys soccer team, 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 at Princeton. The Rockets also play at Sauk Rapids-Rice, noon Saturday, Aug. 23.

Girls soccer opens play at home against Delano, 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25. The team is home to Heritage Christian Academy, 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26 and to Cambridge-Isanti, 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.

Volleyball starts off with a home match against St. Anthony Village, 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25. The next night the team faces Breck at Becker, 6 p.m. Aug. 26.

The girls and boys cross country teams will enter the Maple Lake Invitational, 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29.
