Medina and Greenfield joined cities all over the Twin Cities metro area in annual celebrations of Night to Unite Tuesday, Aug. 5. City and neighborhood parties brought together residents, firefighters, police and city officials. They got to know each other so they can cooperate in making communities safer. Food and entertainment were much in evidence.
At the Bridgewater subdivision in Medina, party goers slurped root beer floats, climbed inside a Hamel fire engine and splashed in the Bridgewater swimming pool.
At Greenfield city park, residents met Hennepin County Sheriffs deputies, a K-9 officer and the Sheriff’s mounted patrol. Firefighters from two fire departments brought fire trucks. Dinner was served in the form of hotdogs and chips.
