Candidates have filed for council positions

Candidates file in other local races

The following people have filed Affidavits of Candidacy in the following races in the cities of Maple Grove and Osseo for the upcoming Nov. 4th General Election.

Maple Grove

In Maple Grove, there are three positions on the city council that will be vacant at the end of the year. All terms will begin January 2015.

• Mayor (Four-year term) — Tyler Annette, incumbent Mark Steffenson and Jareal Zollicoffer have filed.

• Two council member seats (Each four-year terms) — Adam Bedard, David Brown, incumbent Karen Jaeger, Sherri Marie Johnson and incumbent Phil Leith filed.


The city of Osseo has three positions up at the end of the year with one special election to fill a council seat. All terms will begin January 2015.

• Mayor (Two-year term) — Incumbent Duane Poppe has filed.

• Two council member seats (Each four-year terms) — Donald Jackson, Larry Stelmach, incumbent Rick Weber and Anne Zelenak have filed.

• Special election for council member seat (Fill remaining two years) — Daniel Spanier, temporary appointed person, and Harold Johnson has filed.

State Rep. Positions

People also filed for State Representatives seats up for election in November.

• State Rep. 34A — Incumbent Joyce Peppin is the only person that filed.

• State Rep. 34B — Dennis Smith and David Hoden have filed.
