Woofstock 2014

AUG. 9 — The second annual Woofstock event will be Saturday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arbor Park in the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. This free event is for people and their dogs. There will be live entertainment, goody bags, vendor booths, face painting and other offers. All proceeds benefit Good Karma Animal Rescue of Minnesota, a small, foster-based rescue in the Twin Cities dedicated to saving animals from high-risk situations, advocating and educating within communities.

Food truck for dogs

AUG. 10 — The Big Heart Pet Brands ‘Milo’s Kitchen Treat Truck’ will be making a stop at the Elm Creek Park Reserve Dog Park, 12400 James Deane Parkway in Maple Grove, Sunday, Aug. 10, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. This event is free to the public. Pets and their pet parents can take part in free family photo, doggie bags and check out beds, bowls and toys. Pets can also taste some treats.

MG Historical Museum Open

AUG. 10 — The Maple Grove History Museum, 9030 Forestview Lane, will be open the second Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. Use the south driveway to enter and park. Visitors are welcome to drop by and see the current displays. Check out the very labor intensive method of doing the laundry in days of yesteryear.
