The 11th annual Corcoran Country Daze is Friday and Saturday, Aug. 15 and 16, featuring free family fun, free live music, softball and volleyball tournaments, a classic car show, a craft show, food, beer, fireworks and more.
Most activities will be at Corcoran Park and Ballfields on County Road 10 near County Road 50. Activities will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, when the food stand and beer garden open for visitors. Also at 6 p.m., softball competitors will square off against each other in first games.
Swamp Hounds will offer classic rock music Friday, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Shane Martin Band will play Saturday, Aug. 16. Concert admission is free with nonperishable food donation or cash donation for the food shelf.
The Hope Community Church second annual 5K run will be Saturday at 8:30 a.m.; register at www.myhopecommunity.org/5k. The run will begin at Hope Church 19951 Oswald Farm Road, Corcoran. Early bird registration costs $25. At noon Friday, Aug. 15, the cost will increase to $35.
Free family day is Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring Euro bungee jumper, face painting, a climbing wall, pony rides, build a birdhouse, kid’s games, inflatable structure play zone for toddlers, North Air Care helicopter, public safety services exhibits, a Jaws of Life rescue demonstration, Big Foot car crush, benefit volleyball tournament, and NFL punt, pass and kick contest.
Fireworks Saturday night will honor American’s veterans, rain or shine, at Corcoran ballfields, 20300 County Road 50.
All entries for the softball tournaments must be received by the Northwest Area Jaycees by Sunday, Aug. 10.
