Osseo Legion doubles up Brooklyn Park

A couple of three-run innings by Osseo Legion Post 172 halted Brooklyn Park’s chance for a baseball road win on Wednesday, June 25.

“Tonight was a good example of executing a few good pitches in tough situations and also executing at the plate when we had runners in scoring position,” Osseo coach Kevin Kray said.

Osseo downed 6-3 Brooklyn Park Legion Post 630 after falling behind early in the third inning, 1-0. Tyler Stroh drove in Danny Sivanich to put the Knights ahead.

Steven Fischer led off for Osseo in the bottom of the third and later scored to spark their first three-run inning. Post 630 came back and scored two in the top of the fifth. Brandon Budnick had a double and run scored in the inning.

Osseo answered back to break the 3-3 tie with another three runs after loading the bases in the bottom of the inning. The Knights only mustered one more hit after that in the loss.

Budnick took the loss on the mound for Post 630. Austin Ledin came in to relieve Budnick late in the game.

“Things are starting to come together a little bit, but we have a long way to go and starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together,” Kray said.
