Community market

NOW THROUGH OCT. 17 – A community market will be open on Fridays between 3 and 7 p.m. at the Rockford Mall parking lot (inside in bad weather) through Oct. 17. Look for fresh farm produce, local products like honey and syrup, crafts, jewelry and a wide assortment of items. The fee for vendors is $5 per date, or $30 for the season. VFW burger, steak fry nights

JUNE 20 – 28 — The Heinzen-Ditter Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will offer burger and steak fry nights to the public at the VFW clubhouse on Hamel Road at Brockton Lane (on the Hamel/ Plymouth border). Diners can eat in or take out from 5 to 7 p.m. Burger nights are scheduled for Fridays on June 20 and 27. The next steak fry is Saturday, June 28.

Free Hanover concert

JUNE 19 — The founding members the White SideWalls Rock N Roll Revue are back, come relax and enjoy an evening

of free music Thursday, June 19 6:30 p.m. at Hanover City Hall. Bring your kids, chairs, blankets and bug spray.

Matt Birk at STMA High School

JUNE 19 — Former NFL player and Minnesota Viking Matt Birk is coming to STMA High School Thursday, June 19, doors open at 7 p.m., kick off at 7:30 to 9 p.m. The event is titled “A Man with a Prolife Mission!” Tickets are $20 per adult/ $10 per student (ages 5 to 18). Maximum family rate of $50. Five dollar increase at door, seating limited. Ticket locations are at Cornerstone Women’s Center in St. Michael and Coborn’s in Albertville. Autographed books and footballs, desserts/beverages. Also speaking is Tom Emmer, candidate for Congress.

Crow River Paddle Days

JUNE 21 — The Crow River Organization of Water (CROW) is holding an annual Paddle Day on the Crow River. Come paddle with us from St. Michael to the Mississippi River Dayton boat access.   You can just show up and paddle, or learn how under the watchful eyes of instructors. Pre-registration is required. Equipment, light snacks, and water will be provided to registered participants.  $10/ person or $30/Family of 4 or more. Rockford Library Book Club

JUNE 23 — The Rockford Library Book Club will meet on Monday, June 23 at 2 p.m. at the library. Usual meeting dates are fourth Mondays of the month. This is an adult book club. Please call the library at 763-477-4216 to get the monthly selection, or to ask questions.

Social Security workshop

JUNE 23 DEADLINE — Thrivent Financial will offer Social Security workshops on Tuesday, June 24 and Thursday, June 26 at Redeemer Lutheran School, 115 Wayzata Blvd., Wayzata. RAHS Kids Camp

JUNE 24, 25 & 26 — Summer activitis and fun will take over the Aimes-Florida Stork House on Tuesday June 24,; Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sing up for one, two, or all three days. Native American beading, drum making, weaving and spinning, papermaking and games and a walking tour of Rockford are on the schedule. St. Paul Saints experience

JUNE 24 — The St. Paul Saints will be bringing their road show of entertainment and announcers to the Hanover boys 14U baseball game against Corcoran/Delano Tuesday, June 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hanover Athletic Association field #2 (by City Hall). Love INC Alley Sale

JUNE 25 — Love in the Name of Christ Heartland (Love INC) will hold an alley sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 25 next to the Love INC headquarters, 318 Railroad Ave., Delano. The nonprofit agency will offer items not normally found in its store, including children and adult sporting goods, furniture, lamps of all sizes, household items, antiques, wall décor, children’s toys, and much more. Proceeds will help Love INC provide services to neighbors in need in Independence, Maple Plain, Rockford, Loretto, Delano, Watertown, Montrose, Howard Lake and Waverly.

4TH TUESDAYS — There will be a Three Rivers Progressive Forum on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at Dehn’s Country Manor, 11291 Fernbrook Lane, in Dayton.
