A Yellow Ribbon City’s purpose is to unite all areas within a community to create a comprehensive network that connects and coordinates resources for the purpose of proactively supporting service members, veterans and military families.
More than 50 community members and leaders contributed to the success of their action plan when Maple Grove became a nationally recognized Yellow Ribbon Community in 2013. Maple Grove connects military families with resources such as social services, health and wellness, potential employment opportunities or just a committed environment where those in need can connect with others willing to provide help.
The Maple Grove Community Organization invites the public to attend this event for the community and share in the importance of this recognition. This year’s celebration is Wednesday, July 9, beginning at 7 p.m. with entertainment provided by Uncle Chunk Band. Come and see the red, white and blue decorated Maple Grove Town Green.
Individuals are instrumental in continuing the Maple Grove Beyond the Yellow Ribbon’s success. Consider attending one of their meetings to learn how to participate in this mission. Contact them at 612-564-9764, [email protected], or on Facebook (Maple Grove Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Network).
