Lightning strikes home, starts fire

Maple Grove Firefighters responded to a house fire on the 9300 block of Magnolia Lane N. during the evening of Monday, June 16.

The fire started around 6 p.m. and was caused by a lightning strike.

According to Fire Chief Scott Anderson the department got the scene quickly.

“I’m happy to tell you there was very damage,” he added. “We got right in and put the fire out.”

Chief Anderson said, “The homeowners will be displaced for a few weeks, but the house is easily repairable.”
