Work has begun on parts of Highway 610 in Maple Grove. MnDOT officials are letting motorists know they may encounter off-peak and overnight lane closures as crews seal the pavement joints to prevent the roadway from deteriorating.
Crews began working on June 2 to seal Hwy. 610 between Elm Creek Boulevard in Maple Grove to Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park.
The preventative maintenance project is expected to be complete by June 20, weather permitting. Motorists should plan to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone.
Pavement joints are sealed to keep water and moisture out of the pavement. The maintenance process can extend the life of the pavement and prevent the need for more costly repairs in the future.
