Work has begun on SilverCreek project

Large trucks and machines have started to move dirt at the southwest corner of the intersection at Main Street and Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove, across the road from LifeTime Fitness. This is the site of the future SilverCreek on Main development.

The SilverCreek project has begun the first phase of 195 units of senior-only housing units.

Maple Grove Community Development Director Dick Edwards said, “The mix of units in the first phase include 106 Independent Living Units, 41 Assisted Living Units and 48 Memory Care units.”

According the SilverCreek project website, the senior independent living apartments will be either one bedroom plus den, two bedroom or two bedroom plus den in a variety of floor plans.

The assisted living units will offer amenities and 24-hour personal care tailored to the needs of the resident in apartments that are studio, one bedroom or two bedroom options with emergency alert systems.

Those with Alzheimer’s or dementia may benefit from the memory care units. These individual studio units have specially trained staff members to care for people with memory loss.

The SilverCreek development will offer underground parking for the independent living apartments.

Other amenities at the project will include: beauty/barber shop, library with computers, dining room, theater, chapel, game room, activity and craft room and outdoor patios.

There will also be a health and fitness center for residents. The center will include a warm water pool, fitness stations and an aquatic therapy pool.

Edwards said, “The first units are projected to be available by July or 2015.”

The total project will be around 360 units. The timing of the future phases will be driven by the market, but Edwards said developer Silvercrest Company is optimistic.
