With a simple phrase “Can you help us deliver hope for those in need?” mail carriers in Champlin, Maple Grove, Osseo and Rogers joined with CROSS, Saturday, May 10, for the 22nd Annual Letter Carriers’ food drive Stamp Out Hunger. Mail carriers from these postal areas delivered over 19,800 pounds of food for CROSS.
These community food drives are important as CROSS needs to prepare our shelves for the summer months when donations often decrease significantly. CROSS provides services to over 130 families a week providing over 50,000 pounds of food to those in need in the community each month. With over 13,000 pounds of food moving out of CROSS each week, there is plenty of help needed.
This food drive is over for this year. However people can always donate time, food, clothing, school supplies, toys, and funds to CROSS all year long.
CROSS, located in Rogers, has been in existence nearly 40 years. CROSS is now servicing approximately 600 families monthly across the programs. CROSS is supported by community donations from business, churches, individuals, schools, foundations and civic organizations.
