The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning vehicle pursuit that took place Saturday, May 10.
At approximately 3 a.m., a deputy with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over a suspected impaired driver traveling along Hemlock Lane and Interstate 94 in Maple Grove.
The 26-year-old male suspect slowed the vehicle but refused to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued.
The chase lasted approximately 30 minutes, traveling through Maple Grove, and into St. Paul. The pursuit eventually come to an end in the city of Crystal around 3:30 a.m. The chase ended when the suspects’ vehicle crashed in the area of 36th Avenue and County Road 81 following a PIT maneuver by law enforcement officials.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
Maple Grove Police Captain Tracey Stille said, “No one was hurt and there was no property damage in Maple Grove.”
