The Rogers girl golfers had their best conference match of the season Monday, placing second, capping a four-day stretch with five meets.
Buffalo won with 323, followed by Rogers 360, Monticello 365, St. Michael-Albertville 380 and Big Lake 485, at Riverwood National in Otsego. Buffalo’s Lexi Bollant was low with 73. Rogers scores were Maddie Hol 79, Megan Secrist 86, Kayla Larson 96, Sydney Clark 99.
The Royals placed third in the first two Mississippi 8 matches, including Thursday at Buffalo, when it was Buffalo 324, Monticello 377, Rogers 384, STMA 416 and Big Lake 425. Hol shot 88, Secrist 94, Clark 97 and Larson 105.
The Royals made a western road trip over the weekend to play in two tournaments.
In the Minnewaska Area Invitational on Friday, in 25-35 mph winds, the Royals were sixth among 11 teams. Detroit Lakes won with 332. Rogers had 407, with Secrist shooting 94, Clark 103, Larson 100 and Julianna Kiesner 110.
In the Alexandria Invitational on Saturday, the Royals were sixth among nine entrants. Alexandria won with 344. Rogers totaled 416, with Secrist carding a 93, Larson 102, Kiesner 107 and Clark 114.
Next for the Royals was the Mora Invitational Wednesday.
