Parsons was an assistant track coach at Blaine prior coming to Maple Grove. He inherits a program with large numbers of participants for both the boys’ and girls’ teams. Captains for this season are seniors Sara Halfrich, Marissa Larson, Chandler Martin and Olivia Rosenow.

Judging by their early performances, the Crimson will be strong in the middle distance. The top performances in the early season Joe Lane Invitational against top-ranked Minnetonka, Chanhassan, Prior Lake, Burnsville and Mounds View were mostly in the middle distance races. They were:

Mitchell Dickerson – first place Mile Run – 4:32.2

Lauren Scheidler – third place 400 meter dash – 1:01.3

Zach Corbin – second place 400 meter dash – 52.03

Jake Walden – third place 400 meter dash – 52.19

Leroy Kwateh- second place 300 meter hurdles-  43.54

Sara Halfrich – third place 800 meter run – 2:25.7

Jake Walden, Mitchell Dickerson, Reid Diamond, Zach Corbin – first place 4X400 meter relay.

The only placer in the sprint was Zenitra Lee, who took third place in the 100 meter dash in 13.3.

The Crimson’s next scheduled meet is May 13 at Osseo.
