The body found in an RV picked up in Anoka has been identified as an Anoka man missing since last fall.
Police have confirmed the body was that of Kevin Casserly, 22, who had been reported missing Nov. 17, 2013. Casserly’s vehicle had been found in the 2700 block of Seventh Avenue, in Anoka.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, its criminal investigation division was contacted May 1 about the body. Earlier that day a group of individuals had rented the RV from a private party, picking it up in Anoka.
While traveling, they had pulled off the freeway in Winona to investigate an odor and discovered the body in a storage compartment accessible from the outside, according to Cmdr. Paul Sommer of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
Police have not released any details on Casserly’s cause of death or how he may have come to end up in the RV.
