The 2014 Osseo High track and field teams should be solid because of the return of several top athletes in various events.
The top returners are sophomore sprinter Prince Kruah and junior sprinter Gabe Galamue. Both ran on last year’s 4×200 relay with the graduated Leo Wiagbe and Fawaz Oba that took second in the state meet. Both Kruah and Galamue are off to a good start as they already ran a 50 second in the 400.
Senior Shawn Anderson is the team captain and the top jumper. He already cleared 20-foot in long jump and 40-foot in triple jumper. Adam Berkowitz is the other senior captain and he is a 10:00 two-miler. The other returning veteran is senior pole vault Jason Schulte.
Senior pole vaulter Jenny Schoenrock holds the school record in the event. Junior captain Alayah Reynolds performs in the hurdles, sprints and jumps and has already clocked 47 second in the 300-meter hurdles. Senior Lindsey Beisner is a top sprinter who has clocked a 13-second 100 meter, 28-second 200 meter and 64-second 400 meter. Junior Grace Koskela is the team’s top distance runner and a 5:40-miler.
