The Maple Grove City Council has met in two different special meetings to find possible candidates to fill the police chief position.
Maple Grove Police Chief Dave Jess will be retiring at the end of May, after 30 years in law enforcement.
The council first met Saturday, April 19, to interview six candidate finalists, according to City Administrator Al Madsen. A second special council meeting took place Saturday, April 26, to re-interview the final three of the original six candidates.
“This involved two internal and one external candidates,” Madsen added. “Any job offer will be conditioned on a variety of factors.”
The Maple Grove City Council will release the name of and appoint the prospective new chief at its Monday, May 5.
