Maria Loughlin of Rogers has signed with the Minnesota-Crookston basketball team after two seasons with Anoka-Ramsey, where she averaged 16.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists as a sophomore.
UMC coach Mike Roysland cited Loughlin as “a lefty who is great off the bounce” along with a “tremendous defender” and a player who brings energy to the lineup.
Loughlin, a guard who scored 825 points for Rogers, helped A-R reach nationals this year and was named to the all-tournament team there. She made junior college all-state both seasons with the Rams, and all-region as a sophomore.
Both her high school and college careers were interrupted by knee injuries. She missed the entire 2012-13 season at ARCC.
