Look what CROSS has available for seniors

CROSS offers resources and opportunities for seniors in area communities.

Clothes Closet: CROSS has a shopping area located in its facility in Rogers. Clothing is sold for .50 cents a pound. Also, picture frames, lamps, dishes, and other household items are available at CROSS.

Food shelf: Serving all ages in the communities of Champlin (west), Corcoran, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo and Rogers.

Meals on Wheels: Delivered Monday-Friday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Meals are prepared from Lynde’s Restaurant in Osseo. All meals include a main course, bread or roll, fruit, dessert, and 1 percent milk. Meal options are available for a variety of diets. The delivery area is Corcoran, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo and Rogers. NAPS Program provider: Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors

Second Harvest will be on site at CROSS Wednesday, April 23, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. for seniors to sign-up for the NAPS program. This is a free monthly supplemental USDA commodity food package for seniors aged 60 and older who quality.

Volunteer Opportunities: Individuals of all ages can volunteer. CROSS staff enjoys the stories shared by our Senior volunteers. Duties include data entry, sorting food, sorting clothing, and greeting families.

Join CROSS at Empty Bowls in Rogers, scheduled for Thursday, May 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Crown Room – Wellstead of Rogers. Entertainment: Community Education Crescendo Music Program, Rogers Middle School Jazz Band, and Oh Brother Quartet. Come for the community and stay for the music.

CROSS, located in Rogers, has been in existence for more than 30 years. CROSS is now servicing approximately 600 families monthly across the programs.
