The annual Maple Grove Empty Bowls event took place March 13 at the Maple Grove Community Center. CROSS participated in this fundraising event.

Empty Bowls is an international grass roots effort to raise funds for local food shelves. The simple intent behind this project is to gather potters and others from the community to create handcrafted bowls educate about hunger in our community.  Local potters and artists, as well as the Osseo School District Community Education, and Maple Grove Arts Center donate handcrafted bowls.

During the Maple Grove Empty Bowls event, members of the community were invited to shop and purchase handcrafted bowls while having a meal of soup and bread.

New at this year’s event was an area for kids to decorate their own necklace.

CROSS Services provides food, clothing, seasonal children’s programs, limited financial assistance, and Meals on Wheels to families living in the communities of Corcoran, Dayton, Maple Grove, Osseo, Rogers and west Champlin.
