Delano’s Damon Longstreet is one of 41 of the state’s outstanding senior boys basketball players that will compete in the 32nd annual Minnesota High School All-Star Basketball Series played March 28-29.

Doubleheaders will be played Friday, March 28 at St. Cloud State University and Saturday, March 29 at Macalester College in St. Paul.

Friday’s event will be tipped off by a contest between the Gold and Green teams at 7 p.m. The Blue and Maroon teams will play around 8:45 p.m. Saturday’s schedule will include games at 2:15 and 4 p.m.

Three-point shooting and dunk contests will precede each of the games both dates. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens and students (5 and under are free).

Longstreet, who is on the Green team, played in three section finals, making it to state last season. He finished with 918 career points and 618 rebounds. This season he was named to the Wright County Conference first team along with Toby Hanson, who finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer.

The Blue team will be coached by legendary Coach Bob McDonald of Chisholm and his son Joel of Hibbing. Bob is retiring after 59 years on the sidelines and over 1,000 victories.
