Clothing is typically recycled by donating items to charities. CROSS Services has a clothes shopping program. This program is a shopping model in which families choose items best suited to their needs at prices low enough to be affordable ($.50 per pound), An average t-shirt weighs about 4 ounces and a sweatshirt about one pound. On these cold winter day instead of leafing through a glossy magazine at the latest styles, start a closet cleaning project. It may well be gratifying to someone who could use a new/recycled sweatshirt or sweater to wear in the cold. Bag up the items no longer worn and share them with someone in the community. Donation hours are: Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Thursday from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Closed Tuesdays and between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
