MARCH 7 — The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 172 will be hosting a Fish fry Friday, March 7, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Osseo/Maple Grove American Legion. The Auxiliary will be serving Walleye. There will also be shrimp, steak and also a steak and shrimp combo dinner.

‘Cinderella Complex’ at MGJH

MARCH 13 TO 15 — This year Maple Grove Junior High will be presenting “The Cinderella Complex,” the “truth” behind the story everyone knows. So what is the truth? What is a “Cinderella Complex?’To find out the answers to these questions, grab a pumpkin-turned-to-carriage, and come watch the play. MARCH 15 — Free workshop opportunities are available for family members where they will receive training to help them deal with the challenging behaviors that often result from Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Dalton Keeler Benefit

MARCH 15 — Champlin resident Dalton Keeler, 11, was playing football last fall when he was hit in the head by another player. After his parents brought him to the hospital he was given a CT scan. The doctors discovered a tumor on Dalton’s brain doctor’s were able to remove the tumor which was luckily benign. Dalton goes in for check ups every three months and currently, his parents pay a very high deductible. A benefit for Dalton and his family will be held Saturday, March 15 from 2-6 p.m. at the Osseo/Maple Grove Legion. A spaghetti plate will be served for $10, beer is $3. Crisis Prevention Workshop

MARCH 15 — The forum, Crisis Prevention Workshop – “How to Handle a Mental Health Crisis: A Parent’s Guide,” has been scheduled for Saturday, March 15, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, at North View Junior High, 5869 69th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park. Dealing with a child’s mental health crisis can be a frightening experience. Learn about the services and supports that are available to families in crisis. Speakers from Child Crisis, Brooklyn Park Police and NAMI Hennepin will help families learn about how to respond to emergencies and how to avoid future crises.  Hosted by the Parent Catalyst Leadership Group (PCLG) of the Hennepin County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative. Omelet breakfast

MARCH 16 — The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Riders will host monthly omelet breakfasts at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Avenue S.E. in Osseo. The next omelet breakfast is Sunday, March 16, from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $8 per person. Come and enjoy an omelet of one’s own creation with the Legion’s ingredients and have it prepared right there. Through these types of events, the Legion Riders have been able to help veterans and families with the support.

Blood drive

MARCH 18 — Maple Grove Senior High School is having a blood drive Tuesday, March 18, from 2 to 7 p.m. This is open to all students, parents, and the entire community. To sign up, go to mbc.org/searchdrives and type in the 4-digit code “1167”. Then click on the  date of the drive, and proceed from there. If they have used the online scheduling system before, they will just need to login. If not, they will need to create a profile then make their appointment. Additionally, there will be two chances to win a $200 dollar college scholarship.
