The District 279 Foundation hosts is Night Out event. Originally from the Iron Range and a neighbor of District 279’s Superintendent Kate Maguire while growing up, Harrington currently resides in Brooklyn Park.
More than 250 education supporters attended the District 279 Foundation Night Out at the 279 Olympics on Feb. 13. The event raised more than $23,000 to support educational programs for Osseo Area Schools students.
Entertainment included Chinese dancers and hula-hoop acrobatics. John Harrington, a member of the 1980 Miracle on Ice U.S. Olympic Hockey Team was the featured guest speaker, sharing the message that it’s important to give students opportunities to grow and push themselves.
Guests bid on numerous baskets and gift items raising more than $23,000 to support education programs for Osseo Area Schools students.
