Knights boys basketball wins regular season finale

Team gets 4 seed; will host section quarterfinal

The Knights finished off the 2013-2014 regular season with a home victory over the Rogers Royals. STMA came into the game looking to move above .500 and finish the season strong.

A close first half saw the Knights take a 33-29 lead into the intermission. In the second half, the Knights kept up the offense, scoring 37 points. Rogers kept it close, but in the end the Knights took the victory by the score of 70-63.

Jackson Greenwaldt once again led the way for the Knights with 23 points. Greenwaldt went 5-9 from behind the three point line. Trevor Rothstein contributed mightily as well with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Brian Sukalski scored eight points and grabbed six boards.

Cole Murray led Rogers with 19 points and Lance Lendl scored 11 points of his own. With the victory, the Knights finished the regular season with a winning record (13-12). The Knights also clinched the #4 seed in the section tournament.

The Knights hosted Moorhead on Tuesday in the section quarterfinal round. The winner moves on to face the winner of St. Cloud Tech and Bemidji on Saturday at St. Cloud State University.

Jackson Greenwaldt led STMA in the regular season with 18.4 points per game.
