Maple Grove, seeded second, advances to the section semifinal against No. 3 Centennial Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the State Fairground Coliseum. The section final will be Friday, Feb. 28, at the Coliseum. Maple Grove defeated Centennial in overtime and earned a 1-1 during the season. They are 0-2 against top-seeded Blaine.

“It really comes down to a three-game season to see who gets to go to state,” Starkey said. “We do feel like we are peaking at the right time and we are in a good spot. Our top line is really clicking and our second line can score just as much and our third line does not give up any. Our defense is playing great and we are getting great goaltending from Brady. We feel like we have a good chance this year.”
