The Rogers Royals fouled Buffalo way too often and paid dearly for it.

The Bison nailed 28 of 34 free shots to win an otherwise low-scoring game 53-43 on Thursday evening in Buffalo.

“They out hustled us, and we sent them to the free throw line too much,” said Rogers coach Karlee Anderson. “We’ve got to work on that. We’ve got four games left before playoffs.”

Ten scored 13 points and Thirteen scored 12 for the Bison (6-4 conference, 12-9 overall).

Lindsey Dorr netted 14 points and Marina Nowak 10 for Rogers (6-5 conference, 13-9 overall).

In earlier action, sophomore post Hannah Sjerven led with 12 points and 14 rebounds as the Rogers Royals beat Big Lake 64-40 Feb. 11 at home. Lindsey Dorr also scored 12 points and Taylor Anderson was next with nine for the Royals (6-4 conference, 13-8 overall).

Paige Domyahn led Big Lake (0-10 conference, 3-17 overall) with 16 points. Rogers shot 27-for-70 from the field, 2-for-12 on three’s, and 10-for-17 at the line, while dominating the boards with 48 rebounds.

Rogers was to host St. Michael-Albertville on Tuesday.
