Maple Grove Police still hoping for answers in Rebecca Nelson case

It’s been 11 years since the tragic accident at the Maple Grove Community Center that took the life of Rebecca Nelson.

Maple Grove Police are still looking for tips in the fatal hit and run accident involving Rebecca Nelson on Feb. 20, 2003, at the Maple Grove Community Center.

Police are still actively investigating the case.
Maple Grove Police Det. Tanya Petz said, “We are still hoping for tips. No matter how small the tip, we will investigate it.”

On Feb. 20, 2003, Maple Grove Police responded to an accident at the community center. Due to the nature of Nelson’s injuries, the incident appears to be the result of an unfortunate motor vehicle incident. Over the past 10 years, numerous leads have been pursued but the case remains unsolved.
