FEB. 28 — The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club 3rd Annual Rotary Art Auction is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive. This family-friendly event will begin with an auction preview, appetizers and soft drinks served from 5-6 p.m. This year’s art auction will exclusively feature local artwork by STMA students and professional artists from the St. Michael-Albertville-Buffalo area. Proceeds will be used to enhance the arts in the local community through scholarships, ISD #885 arts and theatre programs and STMA Rotary projects. The auction will include approximately 75 pieces of matted unframed original artwork, including paintings, drawings and photography. A small number of pottery and jewelry pieces also will be up for bid. STMA student art is being submitted from every school in the school district, including each elementary school, both middle schools and the high school. Professional artwork includes the works of local artists Karen Berning, Keaton Van’t Hull, Gina Beaudry, K.T. Phanthavong, Louie Darang, and Al Stelton. Admission is free.
