Osseo footballers sign to play college ball

Osseo High seniors Jordan Hollie and Jaimen Hampton signed National Letters of Intent Wednesday, Feb. 5 in a ceremony held at the athletic office.

Hollie, a 6-2 defensive back, will enroll at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. The UMD coaching staff projects him to play in the Bulldog secondary and bring his speed and athleticism to the Northern Sun Conference. The Bulldogs finished the 2013 season with a 11-2 overall record, qualifying for the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

Hollie’s mom, Angela Sheppard, and many family and friends joined him in celebrating a great day.

Hampton, a standout in the Oriole backfield this year, signed to play for the Mustangs of Southwest State – Minnesota. Joined by parents, Nathan and Tamara Hampton, Hampton inked his Letter of Intent and will head for Marshall in the fall. Coaches at Southwest State noted Hampton’s quickness and his ability to accelerate as key factors in their attempts to attract him to their program.
