Yellow Tree

FEB. 13 TO MARCH 2 — Yellow Tree Theater, 320 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Osseo, will present “The Pavilion,” now through March 2. A twenty-year high school reunion in Pine City, brings back former sweethearts and “Cutest Couple in the Class,” Peter and Kari, whose romance ended abruptly 20 years ago. The Pavilion contains a small amount of adult language and is recommended for ages 13 and up. Performance times are Wednesdays to Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is no Sunday performance the first week. Ticket prices are $17 for Wednesday and Thursdays, $23 for Fridays and Saturdays and $20 on Sundays. OFD annual dance

FEB. 14 — The Osseo Fire Department’s Annual Dance will be Friday, Feb. 14, from 8 to midnight at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. The evening will feature a silent auction and live music by Circle Back. A $2 donation is requested at the door. The public is invited to attend.

Omelet breakfast

FEB. 16 — It is that time of year to start planning to attend the monthly omelet breakfasts at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion. The next omelet breakfast is Sunday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. People can get an omelet of their creation with the Legion’s ingredients and have it prepared in from of them. The cost is $8 per person. Proceeds will go to continued support of veterans and their families.

FEB. 18 — Three experts will address “Immigration Reform: A Better Future for Immigrants, their Families, and MN’s Economy” Tuesday, Feb. 18, in Rooms A,B, and C at the Brookdale Library, 6125 Shingle Creek Blvd., Brooklyn Center. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m., and the program starts at 6 p.m. Javier Morillo, President of SEIU Local 26, will discuss the labor problems of immigrants, how immigrants can be empowered, and ways that Immigration Reform can help immigrants and their families. Abena Abraham, a Mounds View high school student who was born in Liberia, will explain the uncertainty of her refugee status as an immigrant from Liberia and the big impact lost immigration status papers had on her family. Elizabeth Tolzmann, Community Engagement Coordinator for the City of Brooklyn Park and an immigration attorney, will provide an overview of immigration law and concepts, discuss common legal issues impacting immigrants in the community, and explain the economic benefits of comprehensive immigration reform for employers and businesses. MGSH Theatre Booster fundraiser

FEB. 22 — The Maple Grove Theatre Boosters will be hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 5005 Northwest Blvd. in Plymouth. Various members of the Maple Grove Senior High choir and cast members from the recent MGSH musical will dress up as various children’s characters from well-known TV shows and movies.
