State Sen. Warren Limmer (District 34) and State Rep. Joyce Peppin (District 34A) invite area residents to attend a local listening session Saturday, Feb. 15, in Maple Grove, Rogers and Dayton. The legislators look forward to discussing issues important to the northwest suburbs as well as the upcoming legislative session with members of the public that attend the listening sessions.
The meeting schedule will be as follows on Feb. 15:
• Maple Grove — From 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road.
• Rogers — From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Rogers Community Center, 21201 Memorial Drive
• Dayton — From 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Dayton City Council Chamber, 12260 S. Diamond Lake Road.
“As your elected officials, we are here to serve the people and priorities of the northwest suburbs,” Sen. Limmer said. “Listening sessions give us the opportunity to speak one-on-one about the issues that are important to our area. We welcome and encourage everyone to attend.”
Rep. Peppin said, “There have already been nearly 300 bills proposed for the 2014 legislative session, some of them controversial, such as higher transportation taxes, minimum wage increases, the legalization of medical marijuana and bailout funding for MNsure. It’s important for us to hear from people in Maple Grove, Rogers and Dayton so we can effectively advocate for their concerns at the State Capitol.”
