Mother/son dance

FEB. 7 — Family Youth Community Connections is hosting a Mother/Son Dance Friday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the St. Michael City Center. Cost is $15 per family, refreshments will be provided. A professional photographer will also be on hand for pictures for an additional fee. Registration deadline is Jan. 31. February Fun Fest

FEB. 8 AND 9 — St. Michael Catholic Church February Fun Fest is Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8 and 9. Spaghetti dinner will follow the Saturday 5 p.m. mass in the gathering space. Bake sale open, raffle tickets for sale. Boot hockey on north side of church at 6:30 p.m. Adult card games, 500 tournament, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, begins with the bake sale after all morning masses. Bingo and meat raffle at 1:30 p.m. Raffle tickets will be sold until 4 p.m. Raffle drawings will be at 4:45 p.m. (need not be present to win). Grand prize is $1,500, second prize is $750, third prize is $50. Chili and soup contest after 10:30 a.m. mass. FEB. 9 — Knights of Columbus BINGO is Sunday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at Mary Queen of Peace Hall St. Martin campus – downtown Rogers. Children are welcome to play. Cost is $7 – 1 card, $12 – 2 cards, $15 – 3 cards. Featuring 25 regular games with $10 – $20 prizes, Progressive Cover-All game, plus five “Half the Take” games. Snacks and beverages available. Senior Movie Club

FEB. 13 –  — Adults are invited to attend a Senior Movie Club at the St. Michael Public Library Thursday, Feb. 13, 1 to 3 p.m. Enjoy a movie followed by discussion. The Nicholas Sparks novel “The Notebook” will come to live in this timeless love story starring James Garner, Ryan Gosling, and Rachel McAdams. The event is sponsored by the Crow River Senior Center.

German Dinner

FEB. 15 — The 5th Annual German Dinner Hanover Harvest Festival Fundraiser and silent auction is Saturday, Feb. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hanover City Hall. Come for some German food and fun to help fund the festival fireworks. Brought to you by the Hanover Harvest Festival committee with the fun music by The Jolly Jammers. Menu will be German Sausage, German Potato Salad, Spaetzle, dinner roll and German Chocolate Cake served to your table.

READ to Taurus

FEB. 15 — Taurus, a Reading Education Assistance Dog, will be at the St. Michael Public Library Saturday, Feb. 15, 10 a.m. to noon, to listen to kindergartners and first grade students read. Reading Education Assistance Dogs are specially trained to listen quietly as children read out loud. The program provides an anxiety-free environment in which children can develop confidence in their reading skills. Contact the library to register for a 15-minute reading session.

500 card party

FEB. 15 — North Hennepin Pioneer Society is hosting a 500 card party Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. at the Corcoran Civic Center, 8200 County Rd. 116. Refreshments and prizes are available. Public is welcome to attend.

Legion fashion show

FEB. 15 — St. Michael American Legion Auxiliary’s 2nd annual fashion show and luncheon will be Saturday, Feb. 15, at the American Legion in St. Michael, 25 Central Ave. E. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The show will start at 12:30 p.m. and will be featuring spring clothing from Chico’s at the Outlets of Albertville. Tickets can be purchased at the Legion or by calling Judy Pichler at 763-497-3926. The proceeds of the event will go to the St. Michael American Legion Veterans’ Memorial.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with Live Music beginning at 7:30 p.m. and ending at 11:30 p.m. Presale tickets are $10 per person, $15 at the door or 2 for $25. Must be 21 year of age or older to get in.
