WOW Wellness on Wheels
JAN. 30 — Wellness on Wheels (WOW) will be in the BankWest parking lot in downtown Rockford on Thursday, Jan. 30, from 2 to 6 p.m. The WOW van is a mobile health resource that provides families with information and assistance on topics such as health insurance, dental health, mental health and a variety of health screenings. FEB. 1 — CODA will provide musical entertainment at the annual Snowflake Luncheon Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Delano American Legion, located on Bridge Avenue at Highway 12. Proceeds from the event will support community service projects of the General Federated Women’s Club of Delano. The 2013-14 project is the Delano Middle School auditorium renovation. Delta Waterfowl annual banquet
FEB. 1 — The Marsh Madness chapter of Delta Waterfowl will be holding its seventh annual fundraising banquet Saturday, Feb. 1, at the St. Michael Community Room. Doors open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. The evening will include live and silent auctions, as well as gun boards and raffles, along with a prime rib dinner. Celebrity emcee will be Captain Billy Hildebrand of KFAN Outdoors. Admission price of $65 includes dinner and membership. Couples’ price is $90. First youth price is $25. Wool felt penny mug rug class
FEB. 1 — Adults and teens, 12 and older, are invited to learn the Civil War art of penny rug making at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1. “Freeze Your Buns Run”
FEB. 2 — The Hamel Lions are sponsoring a 5K “Freeze Your Buns Run” in conjunction with their annual pancake breakfast on Feb. 2 (Super Bowl Sunday) at 9:45 a.m. at the Hamel Community Center (3200 Mill St., Hamel). Registration prior to January 24 is $25, and includes the run, a pancake breakfast and T-shirt. On the day of the event, registration will be $30. FEB. 4 — Wright County Public Health will offer a 60 Plus and Healthy Clinic from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Rockford Walnut Place Apartments, 8830 Walnut Place, Rockford. Public Health staff will trim toenails for seniors who have a health condition such as diabetes or are unable to trim toenails themselves. Pizza fund raiser for DMS Auditorium
FEB. 6 — Pizza Hut of Delano is joining Delano Public Schools to raise funds for the Delano Middle School auditorium restoration project. On Thursday, Feb. 6 Pizza Hut will donate 20 percent of profits to help bring new life to the auditorium. Hours for ordering are from 5 to 8 p.m. Customers ordering pizza must present a coupon to assure the money will go to the auditorium fund. Coupons are available in school principals’ offices. This special offer applies to both takeout and delivered menu items.
Pre-school, Kindergarten open house
