A third Maple Grove student, Jason Fotso, competed in the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. He made it into the top eight debating the topic: “Resolved: Developing countries should prioritize environmental protection over resource extraction when the two are in conflict.”

According to Debate Advisor Ronald Dixon, Fotso’s qualification for state and top eight finish was noteworthy because he was selected to compete in that category at sections as a last minute replacement.

The state debate is the longest running Minnesota State High School League event.
