Maple Grove gymnasts topple Osseo, take 3rd at invitational

Maple Grove defeated Osseo 130.725 to 109.5 in a Northwest Suburban Conference gymnastics meet Thursday, Jan. 16.

Crimson gymnasts won first places in all four events and dominated the meet. Alex Kara, Alex Ducosin, Kate Aase and Natalie Young each won an event and Young was the top all-arounder.

Top Maple Grove finishers for each event were:

Vault: 1. Alex Kara 8.5, 2. Hannah Kreye 8.4, 3. Courtney Latterell 8.35.

Bars: 1. Alex Ducosin 7.975, 2. Kate Aase 7.85, 3. Natalie Young 7.725, 4. Latterell 7.4, 5. Kara 7.25.

Beam: 1. Aase 8.725, 2. Ashley Song 8.4, 3. Young 8.1, 4. Kara 7.85, 5. Latterell 6.8.

Floor: 1. Young 8.625, 2. Kara 8.4, 3. Ducosin 8.175, 4. Ruth Nygaard 8.1.

All Around: 1. Young 32.6, 2. Kara 32.0, 3.Latterell 30.075.

 

Maple Grove came in third place out of seven teams at the Princeton Invitational Jan. 11 Top Crimson placers were:.

Vault: 9. Kara 8.75, 15.  Latterell 8.55, 21. Kreye 8.3.

Bars: 8. Aase 8.3, 10. Latterell 8.25, 17. Ducosin 7.85

Beam: 3. Kara 9.0, 8. Young 8.7, 12. Song 8.55

Floor: 11. Kara 8.4, 13. Young 8.35, 17. Nygaard 8.05

All Around: 9. Kara 33.75, 15. Latterell 32.65
