Local business works with Osseo Schools to help families in need

This time of year, with its focus on gift giving, can be particularly challenging for some students and families. Boston Scientific has collaborated with Osseo Area Schools to help lighten the load for some families.

For the past five years, Boston Scientific has sponsored families in the school district for the holidays. This year, they sponsored 41 families, totaling 213 individuals. Families are identified by district social workers, English Language teachers, counselors, principals and student assistance counselors.

Boston Scientific donated items including coats, hats, boots, snow pants, Boston Scientific apparel, hygiene items, gift cards and more. During the collection and distribution process, the loading dock at Maple Grove Junior High served as a gathering location.

Over the past five years, Boston Scientific has helped provide items to an estimated 200 families (about 1,000 individuals) within the district. This assistance helps families through challenging times and with some of these needs met, it allows students to be better prepared to learn.
